Web-design services in Websima DMCC style

Designing and coding are only 2 steps of the total 7. Coding is acting like a brain and designing is similar to a heart in a body, but other parts of the body are vital a well. It is the same in building a website as other steps are crucial parts of the process.

In this article, we will discuss the 7 steps of building a website in Websima DMCC. We ensure you that after reading this article, we will change your image about creating a new website!

1.Understanding the project and its purposes

Investigate and defining a target is the first step to create a website. To do that, we will ask different questions and get some information from customers.

From the first contact and in the first free-of-charge consultation meeting we will try to understand the purpose of the website and get some vision in your business. Some of the most important questions to be asked are as below:

  • What is your main purpose of building the website?
  • What are the important products and services that you are willing to offer in your website?
  • What is your target segment?
  • What do you like your visitors to do in your website and how do you want them to contact you?
  • What is your difference and advantage to other competitors?
  • Have you ever had a website before?

Choosing a destination is the first step of any path. If we don’t know where we are going to, choosing a path is meaningless. If we ignore this step, most probably we go through a wrong direction and we won’t succeed.

2.Writing a Proposal as a Project Executive Plan

After the first meeting and understanding the customer’s need, we will have some internal meetings and try to gather ideas and suggestions to improve the website.

After investigating all the suggestions and analysing customer’s competitors, project manager will design a standard structure with practical features for the website and write all of them in details in customer’s proposal for later reference.

Lastly, by considering the features and graphic design of the website, we will add an accurate timeline and cost estimation to the proposal. Writing an accurate proposal would dedicate design and timeline boundaries of a project.

Ignoring this step leads us to have conflicts with the customer in next steps. Our experience shows that spending more times and efforts on proposal will increase our chance to succeed and satisfy our customers in future.

3.Visual Identity & Content Priority

In last two steps, the whole structure and important pages of the website is recognized and confirmed by customer. In this step, visual elements will be determined and confirmed by customer and will be applied to the visual design and contents.

Websima’s design team will present two graphical plans after having meetings with customers:

1.Visual Identity (Mood Board)

Choosing the main colour, complementary colours, fonts and sizes would structure the visual identity of a website and by confirming all in initial steps, we avoid later edits in future.

The image below shows a “Mood Board” of a real project designed by Websima DMCC:

2.Content Priority (Art Board)

In this document, we will present the structure of the contents and elements of the homepage. By using the “Design Content-First” method, we try to give priority to the “User Experience” and “Content Accessibility”. The image below is a small part of the “Art Board” for the same project:

These two documents with further details will be sent to the customer and we will receive customers points and confirmation to utilize it. After confirmation, graphical design process for homepage and inner pages will be started.

4.Graphical Design of the Homepage and Inner-Pages

Graphical design of the homepage is the most attractive part of the whole project. We can claim that the most important advantage of Webisma will be our creativity and ability to create an impressive design for your website.

This stage would have no complexity because of the “Mood Board” & “Art Mood” that we have in our hand. Just adding a little bit of creativity and considering the details would lead us to have an attractive outcome at the end.

Web-design is quite different from designing a billboard, a catalogue or a flyer. In the process of designing a web, we should consider User-Experience, mobile version, coding limits for a design, loading speed and low volume. These factors are critical to have a successful project at the end.

The final outcome will be saved and sent as an image file to the customer. At this stage, customer’s points and edits would be received and applied. It is possible that the graphical design gets the confirmation from customer after first sketch, or it may need more meetings to finalize that.

After having the final design of the homepage, the design team start to sketch the inner-pages based on that. Meanwhile, coding team starts its work on homepage and management platform.

5.Coding the Website Considering the SEO Standards

Building a website wouldn’t guarantee your success in this market. Considering “User-Experience” and “SEO Standards” are two important factors for your online marketing. You can’t convert your visitors to customers without that.

Till now, personas and user-experience has been considered and from now on, our technical team will work on the coding to apply all the factors we have discussed. The final outcome of this stage should be fully parallel with the graphical design. SEO standards should be applied as well. Here are some factors for SEO:

  1. Applying correct HTML tags
  2. Responsive design
  3. Fast loading and high speed of the pages

6.Test and Quality Check

After designing and coding a website, it is necessary to test it before presenting it to the customer. Websima’ team will check the website in desktop and mobile and also check the process of publishing some products and articles to find out any possible problems in the website.

After these steps, we will upload the trial version of the website in a temporary domain for the final checks and debugging and give the customer access to that.

7.Training and Moving to the Domain

In this step, customer can see the result. In a meeting, we will train the customer to work with all parts of the website and with the management panel. At the end of the meeting, customer can have a video of the training for his later reference. Customer will have enough time to work with the website and check the management panel and meanwhile he will be in contact with our team for any technical issue.

Anytime which customer believes that he is ready to publish his website, we will move his website to the main domain in 24 hours considering its security and SEO standards.

But this is not the end! We will have a 3 months free support for your website after its launch for any issue or debugging. In early days of launching the website, you may feel excitement and pressure. But don’t be worried! We are just beside you and will support you.

Websima will support the Security of the website for the first year. After that it is extendable.

Discipline is the key for a successful website design

Considering the connection and integrity of different steps of executing a website is the success key to a thorough design.
Members who are engaged in any steps of the project, should have full information about all the previous steps. As an example, in an eCommerce website, design manager should have been aware of the “website plan and content structure”. Or technical manger should read the proposal and design documents before starting the coding.
